KMazing – SM Entertainment recently introduced a new K-Pop group called Girls On Top (GOT). Girls On Top’s members are soloists and members of a variety of SM Entertainment groups, similar to SuperM. There’s BoA, Taeyeon, and Hyoyeon from SNSD, Seulgi, and Wendy from Red Velvet, and Karina and Winter from Aespa.

On January 1, 2022, the group was finally introduced with a special performance, and on January 3, 2022, the collaboration group will release its debut song. Let’s check out the profiles of the Girls On Top members below to learn more about them!

Boa of Girls On Top

BoA is a solo artist that debuted in 2000 with SM Entertainment. She is one of the stars that helped K-Pop gain worldwide recognition. After leaving her brother off at SM Entertainment’s talent contest, BoA started her journey into the realm of voice attraction.

She was 11 years old at the time, and the agency was looking into her. She made her debut with the publication of ID: PEACE B, her first album after a two-year training term.
In 2009, Kwon Bo Ah debuted in the United States with the song Eat You Up. The singer, who was born on November 5, 1986, has also performed with Akon.

Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation

The leader of the K-Pop group SNSD, or Girls’ Generation, was born on March 9, 1989. Taeyeon made her debut in 2007, however, the agency was interested in her when she won the top prize in the SM 8th Annual Best Contest in 2004. She is currently busy as a soloist as well as a musician and is noted for her melodic and strong voice. Taeyeon is also working on drama and film soundtracks, such as All About You for Hotel Del Luna and All With You for Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

Hyoyeon of of Girls’ Generation

Hyoyeon, another member from Girls’ Generation, was born on September 22, 1989, and is the group’s primary rapper and dancer. She collaborated alongside Janet Jackson and backup dancers for BoA during a performance at the 2005 Mnet KM Music Festival prior to her debut. Hyoyeon has been working as a solo artist since 2016, debuting with the song “Mystery.” Not only that, but she is pursuing a career as a DJ under the moniker “Hyo”.

Seulgi of Red Velvet

Kang Seulgi, which debuted in 2014, is the lead dancer of Red Velvet. Seulgi’s vocal skills, in addition to her dancing, is undeniable and is currently famous as one of the most complete idol in the world. She’s also noted for her artistic abilities.

Seulgi debuted as a member of SM Rookies in 2013 and captured the attention of fans by performing “Christmas Carol.” Despite not formally debuting for another year, she began to make more appearances. Seulgi recently makes a headline with her combo with Irene and releases the Monster mini album on June 6, 2020.

Wendy of Red Velvet

Red Velvet’s main vocalist, born February 21, 1994. She and her elder sister relocated to the United States and subsequently to Canada to further their studies when she was 12 years old. She changed her name to Wendy Son and began learning English. Wendy stated in an interview that she got a honor from former US President Barack Obama in 2009.
Wendy auditioned for Cube Entertainment in 2010 before joining SM Entertainment. She was chosen to go to the final round, but she did not make it. Wendy then auditioned for SM Entertainment in Toronto in 2012, and she was accepted till she made her debut as a K-Pop star.

Karina of Aespa

Karina was formerly known as an ulzzang until joining Aespa in 2020. Ulzzang is a phrase used in South Korea to describe a pretty or attractive face. The phrase is also known as the South Korean equivalent of selebgram. She was recruited by one of SM Entertainment’s personnel through instagram DM because of her fame.

The singer was born on April 11, 2000, and after a four-year training term, she made her Aespa debut with the song Black Mamba. Karina was first presented to the world by her presence in Taemin’s Want music video. Later, she danced alongside EXO’s Kai at Hyundai Motors and SM Entertainment’s virtual events.

Winter of Aespa

Winter is often referred to as a visual member because of her charm. She is also known for melodious voice and slick dancing skills. The singer, born January 1, 2001, was recruited by SM Entertainment’s manager while Winter was at a dance festival. She trained for four years before making her debut with Aespa.
