KMazing – Despite being on hiatus, BTS managed to accomplish yet another feat. In 2022, the megastar K-pop group broke a new record on the music streaming site Spotify by topping 1 billion streams in a little under 50 days. This accomplishment is even more astounding since it comes after BTS was awarded the world’s third most-streamed artist in ‘Spotify Wrapped 2021’ late the year.

By achieving 1 billion Spotify streams, BTS has become the first South Korean group and Asian act to do it. BTS is also the world’s fourth most-streamed artist on Spotify so far in 2022. The boy band is one point behind The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift, and one point ahead of Drake.

Furthermore, BTS has the biggest number of monthly listeners and Spotify followers of any South Korean artist, with 39.7 million monthly listeners and 45.7 million followers. The band’s album sales numbers are also outstanding; reportedly, BTS has sold over 33.4 million albums on Gaon, with about 300,000 albums sold in the previous month alone.

On March 10, 12, and 13, 2022, BTS will perform a concert named ‘PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ in Seoul. The performance will take place live at the Seoul Olympic Stadium and will be streamed live online.

“Stay Alive” by Jungkook Topped Chart in the UK

The “Stay Alive” OST by Jungkook is the first to chart in the United Kingdom. Jungkook, like BTS, established a milestone by being the first Korean OST song named Stay Alive produced by SUGA to hit the official chart in the United Kingdom.

Jungkook recently released a new song called Stay Alive, which was composed by SUGA for the soundtrack of BTS’ webtoon and original web book “7 Fates: CHAKHO,” which debuted last week. The song reached numerous UK Official Charts or is commonly regarded as a UK chart of equivalent status to the US Billboard charts during the week of February 18-24, 2022.

Stay Alive debuted at No. 89 on the Official Singles Chart, marking the first time a South Korean OST song has ever charted. Jungkook’s song also topped the Official Singles Sales Chart and the Official Downloads Chart at No. 5.

Stay Alive has broken records all over the globe since its debut, becoming the quickest single by a Korean solo artist to reach No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs list in 80 different regions and peaked at No. 1 in the world’s eight major music markets.

In under 24 hours, the song hit No. 1 in 98 different countries, setting a new record for a South Korean solo artist. Since then, the total number of regions has grown to 104. The song not only set the record for the highest BTS Spotify debut of any Korean solo artist song, but it also reached Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 list at No. 3 only three days after its release.
