Comeback BTS Break Oricon Record
BTS just made another history in Japan. Japanese charts Oricon announced that BTS topped the latest weekly streaming chart with their new Japanese single “Film Out,” co-composed by Jungkook.
According to Oricon’s tally, “Film Out” collected 11,671,865 million streams during the week, from April 5 to 11.
“This is the first time in (Oricon’s) history that a male artist has reached more than 10 million streams in one week with two different songs,” said Oricon’s official announcement.
Prior to “Film Out,” BTS first surpassed 10 million streams in one week in Japan with their hit single “Dynamite,” which was released last August. Last week, “Film Out” became BTS’s first Japanese song to ever top the Oricon weekly digital chart.
This week, the song made history as BTS’s first Japanese song to debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 in the United States and the first Japanese song ever to top Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.
“Film Out” will be included on BTS’s upcoming Japanese compilation album, The Best, which comes out on June 16.
