KMazing – South Korean filmmakers seem to be driven to produce more thriller-genre movies after the film “Parasite” won an Oscar in 2020. Looking forward to the year 2022, here are three of the most recent thriller Korean movies that are worth to watch.

Me and Me

According to Asian Wiki, Me and Me, which was released in June 2020, is about a detective called Hyeong-Goo (Cho Jin-Woong). He looked into the cause of the fire that had erupted in the countryside.

Soo-Hyeok (Bae Soo-Bin) and Yi-Young (Cha Soo-Yeon), a husband and wife, were killed in the fire. They died as a result of suffocation. Hyeong-Goo detects something strange from villagers Hae-Kyun (Jung Hae-Kyun) and Doo-Hee (Jang Won-Young) while investigating the crime.

He wakes up one day in a home where a fire has happened and discovered that everything in his life had altered. The mansion that he remembered stood immaculately. He was referred to be a teacher rather than a detective by the people. His family, house, and job were all vanished.

Innocence

June 2020, a thriller Korean movie called “Innocence” was hitting the cinemas. The film, directed by Park Sang Hyun, depicts the tale of a lawyer who seeks to defend her biological mother, who is a suspect in a murder case.

Mayor Choo (Heo Jun-Ho) and his entourage began vomiting and passed out after drinking makgeolli at the burial of Hwa-spouse Ja’s (Bae Jong-Ok). Mayor Choo escaped, but some of his party members did not.

Hwa-Ja was the one who poisoned the drink, according to the evidence. Hwa-Ja, on the other hand, suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Jung-In (Shin Hye-Sun), Hwa-Ja’s daughter works as a lawyer at a big legal firm in Seoul. She had previously been physically abused by her father and had fled her homeland.

Jung-In watches her mother on the news one day and resolves to see her mother in her hometown. Hwa-Ja, on the other hand, does not know her or her autistic sister Jung-Soo (Hong Kyung).

Jung-In then takes up her mother’s case and detects the truth hidden inside it. She thinks her mother is as uninvolved as everyone claims.
