KMazing – “Queen of Mystery” is a drama directed by Kim Jin-Woo and Yoo Young-Eun, the drama is written by Lee Sung-Min. Starring Kwon Sang-Woo, Choi Kang-Hee, and Lee Won-Geun. K-Drama lately is being colored by dramas with genres that intersect with mystery and crime. Including this drama, Queen of Mystery comes with  genre of crime and mystery. Stretching yet fun for you who likes a typical mystery drama. Mystery Queen is a KBS2 production drama that brings together Kwon Sang-Woo and Choi Kang-Hee as the main character.

Plot of The Story

The story is round about the criminal world, Queen of Mystery is not as heavy as imagined. The drama revolves around Yoo Seol-Ok (Choi Kang-Hee) who is an ordinary housewife. Taking care of the house and his in-laws and brother-in-law, Seol-Ok’s husband is a prosecutor. But actually, Seol-Ok is a woman who loves mystery. Seol-Ok has a hobby of reading a mystery novel and aspires to be a detective, but it is no longer mentioned after marriage.

One day while shopping at a minimarket, Seol-Ok did not deliberately help solve the case of lost items in the store. Since then, Seol-Ok has often met local police chief Hong Joon-Oh (Lee Won-Geun) to help him solving the cases occurring in the area. Of course without the knowledge of her family.

Until one day, they tried to solve the locker burglary case in the local market. The evidence and information they collected eventually led to a larger case, the case of drug trafficking. This has already been investigated by police detective Ha Wan-Seung (Kwon Sang-Woo) but of course it is confidential, unbeknownst to the local police station. Seol-Ok finally took part in the case, then what could happen next?

Our Temp Opinion

To be honest, I am into mystery and criminal nowadays, so without knowing the exact synopsis of the story I just jump into the first episode directly. Well, ignorance is a bliss indeed, since I didn’t know anything about the story nor I watched the trailer, I kinda enjoy the series more than I expected *maybe because I don’t have any expectation before*. The plot thicken naturally throughout the early episode and since it involved unnatural subject *normal housewife solve crime* it becoming more and more interesting. The case itself is rather simple and blatantly created to increase the popularity of the series I guess, but all in all I quite enjoy it !
